Apple dumplings recipe

Dough:

3 C. pastry flour
2 t. sugar
1 egg
1/4 C. water
1 C. butter Crisco
1/2 t. salt
2 t. vinegar
1/2 t. baking powder

Mix together flour, Crisco, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add in beaten egg, vinegar and water. Blend well.

Sauce:

1 C. white sugar
2 C. water
1/2 t. cinnamon
1 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. butter

Mix together.

Dumplings:

6 apples, pealed and cut in halves

Roll out dough, cut into squares.
Place one apple half on each square.
Press around apple.
Pour sauce over dumplings and bake at 375 until golden brown
