Kreem Kuchen recipe                      

Ingredients

3/4 C. shortening
1/2 C. sugar
1 C. boiling water
2 pkg. yeast
1 C. lukewarm water
2 eggs, beaten
2 t. salt
6 C. flour

Filling

2 C. sugar
3/4 C. flour
4 T. butter
4 C. milk
4 t. vanilla

Cook sugar, flour and milk until thick.
Then add vanilla and butter.
 

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar, add boiling water and let set for 10 minutes.
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Combine the two mixtures, add eggs and salt, mix well.
Add flour, knead well.
Refrigerate overnight.
Then divide in 5 parts.
Roll out the size of a pie crust.
Grease pie pans and put in dough.
Add cooled filling ( 1 1/4 C. per pie pan) and sprinkle with cinnamon. Let rise 1 hour.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes
